As soon as Heroes was canceled by NBC the creators were talking about some way to finish the story.  First reports from them suggested a TV movie to wrap things up, which never came to light.  Tim Kring the shows creator decided to take a step so he went on to create a new show for Fox called Touch".  The show was cancelled after 2 seasons, which gave Kring enough time to prepare to pitch an idea to finish his story.

Now 5 years after Heroes was cancelled NBC has given Kring his shot.  A 13 episode mini series to bring back the world of Heroes, tagged with the name "Heroes Reborn,"  Set 5 years after Heroes ended this show tells the story of people with abilities now being hunted by a world that does not understand them. The show is mixing old characters with new, fan fovaorites from Heroes like Jack Coleman, Greg Grunburg, and Masi Oka reprise their roles while new characters are headlined by already established NBC star Zachary Levi (played Chuck.)

Heroes Reborn is utilizing something that made Heroes successful and that is bonus content online. They have released an app where fans can watch highlight and full episodess of Heroes, and watch a 6 part prequel to Heroes Reborn.   Heroes Reborn premieres Thursday September 24th at 8pm ET

i was a huge fan of the original show so to see all the characters coming back makes Heroes Reborn very exciting for me. This is an advantage it has over other shows, it has a fresh established fan base that it doesnt have to work extra hard  to win over.  They have also brought in stars to play new characters to draw in people that didnt watch the original series.  i think the key to its' success will be how well it can keep its old fans happy while not losing a new audience.

  1. The reborn show should be interesting to say the least. I'm interested to see how many of the old viewers actually tune in and stick with the show this time. Hopefully it has a better running the second time around.

  2. Do I need prior knowledge of the show or can I jump right in?

    1. From what I can tell and have read you will not be lost if you are a new viewer. And the viewers of the old shows will just have little Easter eggs the writers and producers throw in.

  3. I am very interested in this show. But I didn't watch Heroes. I do wonder is the fanbase would still be there once this show premieres. I am very interested on how this show will do.
