Heroes Premiere

Heroes Reborn premiered on Thursday with a 2 hour series premiere.  They got a 2.0 rating with a share of 6.  This is a solid rating for a premiere, especially a two hour one. However it did lose out to Scandal and How to Get Away With Murder who both are returning shows. Thursday Night Football won the night, which is no surprise. I don't believe NBC expects to compete with that. The network has to be satisfied with the rating the show got for its 2 hour episode. It might not have as large of a drop off for episode two as other shows will since it is going to it's normal 1 hour run time.

Personally I was very impressed with the episode.  I think they did a wonderful job in bringing in the old characters without losing new viewers, and of course establishing new characters that new audience members can immediately identify with.
They had a couple sequences that were done completely in CG which is interesting and surprising. They're using an angle where one of the characters can enter a popular video game and be in that world. It has to open up many storylines you could write with that. I'm excited to see how they continue to intertwine original characters.
I was also very pleased with Zachary Levi's performance. I thought it might be to weird seeing him. In a role so different than Chuck, but he nailed his new dark role in my opinion! Be sure to keep watching! It's gonna get intense!

  1. I think this is a really hard time slot that Heroes premiered at. There will always be competition with Thursday Night football. I am wondering if the rating will drop just because of all the competition that there is. I hope it does well.

  2. I agree with Abby that it will be hard to compete with Thursday Night Football. However, I think that if the show continues to do well that the fans will keep the show alive.
